Volume at the Oslo Architecture Triennale

It’s raining triennales this fall! Last week the 2013 Lisbon Architecture Triennale was officially opened, and this weekend the design world looks at Oslo where the Nordic region’s biggest architecture festival will kick off. Volume’s editor-in-chief Arjen Oosterman will be one of the professionals who will guide visitors along selected items in the exhibition.
This year’s Oslo Architecture Triennale (OAT) marks the 5th edition, and is titled ‘Behind the Green Door – Architecture and the Desire for Sustainability’. OAT’s main exhibition, ‘Behind the Green Door’, opens September 19 at DogA. Curated by the Belgian collective Rotor, the exhibition explores ‘sustainability’ in architecture and city planning and invites visitors to a thorough, critical and playful journey through sustainability’s impact and influence on architectural culture over the past 30 years.
During the opening weekend, audiences are invited to attend special guided tours with international and national professionals. Snøhetta-partner Kjetil Trædal Thorsen, Storefront-curator Eva Franch and Volume editor-in-chief Arjen Oosterman are a few of the many renown guides, who will highlight selected items in the exhibition’s over 600 objects.
In addition to the main exhibition, Oslo Architecture Triennale collaborated with a number of partners in developing a rich program stretching across Oslo and the Oslo region. For further information, take a look at the website!
