Archis/VOLUME is looking for interns to work with us on a broad scope of activities. It is an opportunity to understand the field of publishing and to gain a thorough understanding of the architectural discourse.
About Archis
Archis is a foundation for architecture, design and beyond. We publish VOLUME magazine together with Nieuwe Instituut. As an experimental think-tank, we also organize events, publish books and initiate research projects. Archis collaborates with a wide range of (international) institutes, companies and organizations related to design and architecture. The team currently consists of five people and our office is located in the historic Centrale Markthal in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
About the internship
Our small, dedicated team is looking for interns to support us with a variety of tasks relating to VOLUME magazine, research projects and events. Tasks may include the following (but we are happy to take your personal preferences and skillset into account):
What we look for
We look for a dedicated, hands-on person that shares our love for architecture and beyond. You have a background in a relevant field of study, such as architecture, design, publishing or architectural history. You are keen to learn, work well independently and within a team and are happy to help out where needed. Knowledge of the Adobe package and/or WordPress is an asset.
Practical information
We look for one or two interns for a period of six months. Internships are generally 20 hours per week or more. Depending on your schedule, we can discuss work hours. We expect interns to work from our Amsterdam office. Applicants can be enrolled in educational programs or be freelancers or young practitioners. In case you are a student, credits can be negotiated with your school.
