Wanted: Visions for Tallinn

The Tallinn Architecture Biennale 2013 invites architects and professionals in related fields to take part in the TAB 2013 Vision Competition and envision the future of an iconic circular block-housing district in Tallinn, Estonia – Väike-Õismäe (Little Blossom Hill).

Tallinn

The district is positioned as a complete solution around a pond in the middle. The circle-based plan creates a unique urban context but is also a limitation that gives the illusion of a functional whole. However, similarly to other modernist apartment block areas, the environment and modern-day life are still searching for a common language. Jury includes Bjarke Ingels (BIG) and the first prize is €5,000. Competition deadline: April 30th, 2013. Click here for the competition briefing.
