On April the 10th the official launch event of 50U will take place in Dubai, gathering some of the contributors and producers behind the new Archis book
50U, which is already on sale, is a book designed by Dutch graphic designer Irma Boom, who also contributed to the ideation of the project together with Yasser Bin Khediya. The book, published to celebrate the 50th year anniversary of the United Arab Emirates, is a collection of 50 portraits of people, plants and places, painting an intimate picture of life in the Emirates, with the memories and expectations of its inhabitants, punctuated by a photo essay by Charlie Koolhaas.
The event will see the presence of the Minister of Youth and Culture of the UAE, Noura Al Kabi, patron of the project and the virtual participation of Irma Boom and Rem Koolhaas with a video message. The guests of the launch will also have the opportunity to visit a small exhibition with a selection of Charlie Koolhaas’ photo essays.
