To celebrate three issues of VOLUME produced in perilous COVID conditions.  To cheer for the arrival of HNI’s new director Aric Chen. To enjoy the virtues of global connections rather than solely depressing on the clear and present dangers they also present.  To have a great fellow magazine alongside us. To drink (alcoholic) beverages in the presence of others. To literally pump up the VOLUME with DJ’s Shahmaran and DYKEHAUS of the KLAUW collective. To climb onto  MVRDV’s new parasitical roof design installation thing facing an MVRDV building. To remember the giant shoulders on which all of us in design reading and writing in one way or the other stand: Hans van Dijk (1948-2021).
