Last week, on Wednesday 16 July to be precise, the opening event of ‘The Good Cause: Architecture of Peace — Divided Cities’ took place at the Architekturmuseum der TU München. At the same time, Volume’s 40th issue, Architecture of Peace Reloaded, was officially launched.

The program of the opening event included talks by Andres Lepik (Director of the Architekturmuseum der TU München); Robert Zaagman (Consul General of the Kingdom of The Netherlands, München); and Lilet Breddels, Arjen Oosterman and Kai Vöckler (Archis Interventions).

‘The Good Cause’ is based on project work carried out over a number of years by a network of architects, urban planners and scholars on the international platform ‘Archis Interventions’, as a response to specific post-conflict situations in war zones and to provide support through active intervention in the rebuilding of cities as a means to ensure peace.

Volume #40: Architecture of Peace ReloadedVolume’s latest issue follows up on Volume #26: Architecture of Peace to further explore the agency of architecture in post-conflict environments. This issue was created in collaboration with the Architekturmuseum der TU München and includes the catalogue for The Good Cause exhibition in Munich.
